Hi all,
My son / his mother, runs a DB380 VRX bought new in 2006 but series 1 2005 model. It is the 772 model to have been produced based on the car manual! Just on 100K travelled.
It has had a few problems but I have fixed them rather than let a work shop do it.
Drivers side rear window regulator (fixed not replaced!)
Tail light faulty wiring - you would think it was a blown globe but it turned out to be a faulty globe holder (fixed it not replaced)
Indicator stalk faulty (fixed it not replaced)
Oil leak over front exhaust headers and over front rocker cover (fixed it - i.e. tightened bolts!)
Loose 4x bolts that hold on the engine cover plate e.g. that has written on it 3.8 etc.

Will post window winder regulator fix in relevant section
ditto with indicator stalk

Problem still outstanding, Cigarette lighter just refuses to work any more. Have checked fuses and wiring loom but just can't work out what is causing it.
Loss of coolant, suspect loose top radiator hose clamp and also found water/coolant colouration on pipe that runs between the V on the block.
Unable to dump all coolant from system, dropped bottom radiator hose which allowed about 4 litres to drain but don't know how to drain the rest from the system. I figure I am missing something here.

While I rarely drive this car, when I have driven it, it has a great feel and handling is impressive. I have a Lexus SC400/Soarer which I love.

welcome to the forum, great to see someone actually fixing components especially the window regulators.

Sounds like you need the seal replaced that mates the rear of the water pump through the Vee to the pipe on the passenger side of the engine.

Do it when you change the water pump and timing belt, cause its probably been leaking on the belt inside the timing belt cover.

The seal and pipe are a press fit at the rear of the water pump and just pulls out.

Allow a fair bit of time.

usually the front ones stay up so that is at least some consolation.
The back ones drop straight down though.

If it's any consolation our brand new Mercedes had TWO fail in one week...luckily under warranty ($600 each)

Ouch, I just bought a heavy duty replacement regulator for my 380 drivers door. It was cheap at 135 dollars delivered.
