Hey, just looking for some info about my 06 GT.

Its recently had a service, but I have noticed since collecting the car and now after servicing, there is an inconsistent engine ticking sound. Not much when cold, then as it warms up it comes and goes.

Sounds like low oil, but its full and am unsure what it could be. Not overly loud, but its annoying to me

Any help would be great

Michael

there is a plastic valve located just behind the throttle body....a black plastic cylindrical housing.
it has a connector...disconnect it and see if the noise stops and report back.

there is also a vacuum controlled valve that presses into the rocker cover of the front cylinder bank.
it is located on the drivers side end of the rocker cover.

it ticks loudly when near its useful life.

diagnosis is by elimination.

Let us know mate? worse case take a video and move the camera around the engine bay and I'll identify it for you.

Is the Valve you are talking about a PCV Valve or something else?
I have the same ticking sound in mine.

okay...

first up I suggest cam belt tensioner
second the pcv valve (on top left hand side of bank closest to radiator, small black plastic assembly connected to breather hose
thirdly purge valve, behind throttle body
fourthly replace all the hydraulic cam followers in both heads...remove cam belt, remove both cam shafts, replace all followers..all day job

don't bother playing with different oils etc, waste of money.

Of course you could just do nothing and it will be fine.....
