Some people, including me, have had annoying squeaks coming from the drivers seat over bumps.

The solution is to replace the seat base.

It is a full warranty item.

takes three visits.

-they try and adjust/oil it
-they re-inspect and find what parts they need to order
-they fit the parts....half a day of drinking their coffee...

Well werribee mitsubishi replaced the seat base...but it still squeaks.

Looks like I need to pull it off and find out what the real problem is...sick of hanging around their cafe bar for hours....

Had the seat back for warranty again yesterday....squeaky again.

This time it was escalated to mitsubishi support.

They are replacing the entire seat frame and foam base and reupholstering the leather to stop the squeaking.

the foam is crushed and thats what they determined is causing the squeak.

Speaking with the man he mentioned to make sure that when warranty runs out to be careful not to let people dig their knee in to the drivers seat to reach in to the glovebox.

Apparently that little manouvere is a major cause of seat base distortion.....makes sense now that i think of it...

(saw the missus do that at least a dozen times over the last year)

Yeah but being the Mrs, she does what she wants...and gets away with it

Its not the back rest by any chance? Sometimes they can squeak on cars and get overlooked.

If you have ever pulled apart a 380 seat you would see how many parts could cause a squeak.. its crazy really

I guess I'll just have to have the stereo loud enough to drown out the squeak!
