hey guys new to the forum and soon to be new to 380gt ownership when I pick it up on Saturday. car does have a couple of issues and I'd like to get some opinions on what the problems and fixs could be. the car has been to converted to lpg (not dealer fitted). it throws up a cel light. the guys says it because of while lpg is running the injectors are off and the ecu thinks its a fault. while I was driving it I noticed that between 40-60kph the engine had a bit of a splutter. lasted a few seconds then the car smooth again. while on petrol is was a bit rough but that could be down to fouled injectors cause it runs the electronic auto switch system so the injectors dont get much use. if there is a issue with the gas system how hard would it be to find and switch to the impco sequent 56 so its as close to a factory system as possible. before I hand over the cash on saturday im going to read the obd port to see what errors show.

Call Impco...go straight to THEM not a dealer

I don't suppose you know when the spark plugs were last changed? have you got an OBD2 reader to get the codes?

Your auto transmission is screwed, probably thrashed as a rental, some of the clutch packs are slipping...chances are the torque converter is stuffed as well. The transmission has to come out of the car...you'll soon know. Flush the fluid into a bucket, have a look at the debris...if there's brown sludge, its your clutch packs. Had exactly the same error codes on mine a while ago. A Mut 3 will yield a description of which gears it is...sounds like 2nd and third...very unusual...usully 4th goes. 1,2 and 3rd have 3 clutch packs 4th and 5th have 2 clutch packs. You can slam 5 into 1,2 and 3rd and slam 3 into 4th and 5th.

Either way the transmission has to come out. A mut3 will show you, in real time, exactly what is happening. Exactly what was happening when mine went on the turbo GT

Get some from the dealer (2 x 4l containers about 80 bucks though)....can talk you through changing it over the phone if you jack the front of the car up? p1782 DCC off is a generic code...the mitsi codes for p17xx are manufacturer specific.

Would the codes about bank 2 running lean be caused by a bad o2 sensor (bank 2 front of the engine right?) lpg usually causes random codes. take out the speedo cluster, carefully PRY/seperate the facia A LITTLE BIT ONLY , put some black tape in front of the CEL led and then no more annoying light.... ![]()

Rather keep ot active is it is something I need to know about. Over took another car at 130 n it was flashing so it is a bit of a pain in the arse Flashing N is bad news for you. 4th gear clutches are stuffed. You need another transmission...or that one rebuilt.
