I have a S1 380 with no traction control.
Anyone know if it is possible to add it (i did a search and didnt find anything about it)
The only difference i can see in the workshop manual is the "ABS\TCL ECU"
The part number for mine is MN116642

I looked at 3 other 380s (Series 3 though) with traction control and they have MN116644.

Would it be a case of swapping out my ABS ecu with a TCL one OR is there other programming in the ECU or something?

The wiring/connector for the TCL switch is there.

It should be straightforward, the wiring looms i dare say are the same.

Your best bet is to pour over the 380 manual electric schematics, see if all the required connectors fit your car and give it a go.

probaly cost you a thousand bucks i reckon.

Why not spend the money on an LSD instead? You won't need TCL...TCL is the poor mans LSD.

check out the LSD thread...but...about 3500 bucks all up....and you wipe the floor with most cars at the lights, especially when wet.

With an LSD you can floor it and both wheels spin and car goes in a straight line wheels are hard to spin if at all depending on tyres...its breathtaking compared to stock.

I have the worlds' first in my GT and then did my TMR380 as well...a guy called Foozrcool did the third and only other one.

Yeah i agree with an LSD being best.
Just wanted to know if anyone knew about it.
If it was just a software flash or a simple swap of the ABS ECU i might have done it.

Now im trying to find a ABS with TCL Hydraulic unit and TCL switch.
Im almost positive that is the only difference. The loom for the switch is there and the diagrams for TCL and nonTCL are the same (except the nonTCL does not show the diagram for the switch)

I did a check on ASA (parts lookup program) and the loom for a S1 nonTCL is the same as the TCL one
