 Location: Victoria | Hi there,
First of all I had a slight accident in my car a little over 6 months ago (no major damage; the majority of it was cosmetics). I got the car repaired and everything was working fine up until maybe 3 months ago.
The problem that's occurring is that the doors keep randomly locking. So for example, sometimes if I unlock the doors with the remote they all open fine and other times when the doors unlock they instantly lock again and I have to battle the car to get in..
It doesn't seem to be the remote either because it happens whilst driving too. The doors lock and you can hear the doors trying to lock over and over again.. Once again this problem doesn't happen 100% of the time. Some days the car drives fine and it doesn't spaz out, other days its really bad.
I thought perhaps its the central locking button where the window buttons are that's causing the problem so I unplugged both the driver and passenger sides to see if that fixed the problem and it still happened.
Does anyone have any idea whats causing this problem?
Also on an unrelated side-note my clear coat paint on my right mirror and my front bumper is starting to peel. Is there a way to stop this and to touch it up?
Cheers for the help,
Alex

look in the area that the damage occured....but it will most likely be the switch panel on drivers door arm rest, get one from the wreckers...about 50 bucks and 5 minutes to change

I unplugged the switch pane on the drivers door to test to see if that was causing my problem. I don't think it is because even when it was unplugged the car kept doing it, so unless the cord that goes to the panel is actually shorting out im not sure what causing this.. |

this is cause there is a switch on the drivers door on the locking knuckle.
it is probably intermittently shorting |
