I am going to sound like a total noob but here goes,

I have got an oil pressure light coming up in the VRX, It is full of oil, doesn't appear to be leaking anywhere and it also has a tapping noise in the top end(sounds like no oil) I have no idea what is going on here, have a bad feeling it could be something sinister, The light does not come on when the engine is first started, it seems to build pressure and then lose it. Its done about 140 000 kms and had the timing belt and tensioner replaced at about 113 000, any ideas at all where to start looking

Cheers guys

Chris

it sounds like oil pressure failure....probably bearings.

i have had a couple of engines fail due to my enthusiastic cornering, the oil pan design makes an air bubble and bang she goes on a RH corner.

i solved it with a magna 6g74 sump which fits straight on

you have probably spun a bearing, and that means engine rebuild time.the bottom without modification except the dipstick.

get a mechanic to do a proper oil pressure test...that will confirm or deny it.

Thanks John,

I was scared you might say something like that, I will get the oil pressure tested and go from there, oh well time to start saving or looking for a good secondhand motor and then figuring out how to fit it. lol
