The spanner icon showed up this week, the odometer reads around 149k and on a quick search I did online it looks like it's one of those major services but could not find out what's involved!!??

Does anyone know what needs to be done?

Another thing as well how to reset the 'spanner icon'?

just keep driving, spanner icon goes away

just change the oil, check the brakes...nothing too expensive required

its out of all warranties

Ye I know it's out of any warranties, but still is a nice car to keep and take care off!!

Oil, oil filter, air filter, throttle body cleaned, front disc brake and pads, where changed at 145K, so oil still good

I'm more concerned about timing belt and water pump belts, I've never changed them since I had the car (abt a year ago) and it didn't have any service books with it!! so don't know when they where changed last...

BTW..
Found how to reset the "spanner icon".....press and hold the up button (the one to change the display on the dash from fuel range, rest time, L/min..etc.) and turn the key to on (stage 2) but don't start the car!!

Yeah...if you go to some forums they will scare you into overservicing the car and changing the timing belt every 3 nanoseconds.

I have so many engines here and have changed so many timing belts that i am over worrying about it.

They don't break without warning.

If you want to inspect it grab yourseolf a 10mm ring spanner and remove one of the top plastic covers and visually check it.

Don't lose sleep over it, in 55k do it then is what i would do.

Ye that's what I was going to do this weekend i.e. open the cover n have a look.... if still looks good I'll leave it and change it next year to be safe

it's funny how some other forums scare everyone with it needs to be changed, when as you said, it won't break without any type of warning!!
