Is it possible and any idea on what is required.

I tried the simple thing of just unplugging the auto ECU but it causes a CAN error (might not be a problem really) and an "Immobiliser invalid key"

Just seeing if its feesable at the moment as i cant see any information about a 380 manual conversion anywhere.
I asked a mitsubishi tech and they seemed to have no idea and said it is not possible because the engine and trans ECU are an all in one unit (not true as far as i can tell)

Location: An island off southern Tasmania.		you need a MUT3 to fix the errors.

I have both the manual and auto 380's here and the ECU is different and so is the wiring loom.

I put it to you that it would be a difficult thing to do.

Your immobiliser error is a different thing...most likely your ECU and key are mismatched.


Again a MUT 3 is useful....

Sorry...have never done one or know of anyone brave enough to attempt it.

having said that, a good electrician will do it.....but, you are better off buying a manual 380....in terms of cost (not the passion...LOL)

I bought a 380 wreck at pickles auctions for under 3 grand....a manual VRX with a brand new engine in it....only cost 4k to bring it back on the road....

Location: South Australia		Thanks for the info. Just that my auto isnt the best and it also has a fair bit of play/backlash (have checked out the cv's and they are fine).
If it was a simple thing like a magna i would of just got all the manual stuff and do a conversion but it seems nobody has done it.

(my 380 has 250,000kms on it at the moment XD )

No...i would unbolt the K-frame and replace everything inc. the steering rack if i had 250k on it......pretty easy job....
