Location: Russia, Perm | Hi all!
After I installed the turbo, I wanted to make a ventilation hood. Firstly, it will improve the blowing of the main radiator. And secondly, it will highlight the look of the car.
However, I do not advocate extreme tuning. I saw how it was done John for his 380. But I like how it is carried out for the EVO X. And I wanted to do the same.
Ventilation hood for the EVO X consists of 3 parts. This two grids and one big nostril. I decided to do only the lattice.

Location: Russia, Perm | The metal is very thin. Welding should be carried out very carefully.

I wanted to do the same but it would have cost much more money and at the time I had a supercharger at the rear.
If I was doing it new I would do your choice for sure. |

I admire the fact that you are doing it the proper way and not as sometimes you see in the street that they buy these aftermarket vents and glue it on the hood (sometime they don't even do the hole as well)
Can't wait to see it finished! |

Location: Russia, Perm | Thanks guys!
I also saw glued lattice. This is ridiculous. I want to say that before you do this or that thing, we need to understand the technical feasibility of this improvement. It is not enough to make holes and put lattice. Should be a deepening of 2-3 cm. Is no longer required. I saw blowing in a wind tunnel. If we take the usual bonnet, then it is laminar (smooth) air flow. And there is pressure. If you deepen to 2-3 cm, appears low pressure and turbulence. If the location to install the grille, the air will come out in an area of low pressure. If you do not do the recess, the effect is lost. This effect is used on many sports cars since the 60s. |
