Location: An island off southern Tasmania. | I have started this thread for reporting on the success of the mods to the 380 ECU by comrage Stayer.
Today i posted a fully working 380 ECU to Stayer as a guinea pig to evaluate it.
Will post in this thread all about my experiences.
If successful will offer to members as an exchange service.

What sort of things can he achieve with the Bosch unit?
It will be so. I have the following (standard reflash):
1)Disable the rear oxygen sensors. This will allow you to remove cats, install optimized exhaust manifolds. Eliminate errors on oxygen sensors.
2) Programmatically connect the power mode. What is it? This mode is configured factory engineers, but disabled. This is done to implement the environmental standards. However, as ride a horse which has a broken leg?
3) I will remove the speed limit. It cannot be turned off completely, but you can set the limit of 500 km/H.
4) Optimization of fuel injection and ignition advance angle.
5) for more your wishes......

stayer mentioned that after a reflash the immobiliser is reset...i.e your key doesn't work.
so.....
you send me one of your ignition keys and I match it up to the ecu with the mut3 ...so should just be plug and go.
that's the theory...LOL |

Location: Russia, Perm | It was incredibly frustrating. Factory engineers Mitsubishi refused to cooperate with me. However, there is no such ECU which cannot be reflash. Your ECU contains a separate flash memory.

Location: An island off southern Tasmania. | Stayer.....Here is where the K-Line from the OBD connector goes to.
It goes to Pin #44 on the big ECU connector exactly as i told you from the schematic.
A few minutes ago I laid out the whole car wiring on the floor and checked with a multi meter.
See for yourself....PIN 44 is the correct one.

Stayer wanted confirmation of three pins from the OBD connector to the main plug on the ECU....K-line and can bus read/write lines
I layed the whole car loom on the floor and metered it out.
Behind the scenes I sent him a 380 ECU in Russia to crack it.
It looks like he is succeeding. |

What's the latest news regarding Stayer's mods to the factory ECU?
I sent a 380 ecu to stayer, he has sent it back to me by post...it takes weeks unless we want to pay DHL rates.
I will see how difficult the whole process will be.
The main issue is programming the keys after the mods are done and how to coordinate it.
This is because the factory keys only work with the factory ecu....so you cant use other peoples' ecu's in a rotation.
Most wouldn't want to be without an ecu for a month now would they? |

Location: Russia, Perm | Working with ECU long finished. However, the pushing back and forth does not make sense. This very long. I worked out a way to read and write on the spot. This does not require keys electronic immobilizer or work from a dealer. However, I can't provide you with the equipment. John aware of all the problems. I think in the near future this question will be solved. Wait a little. |

This is not so. If you do reflash on the spot, do not require any codes, keys and other. You write ECU new software, but the chipset eeprom verification codes. The car will work. You're not changing the ecu. New software to write vehicle ecu, all codes old. After writing, the car runs on the new software.
Problems about which you write, arise when replacing the ecu. Immobilizer checks codes to run. But immobilizer not affect the software. If the ecu from the other vehicle, the launch will not take place. This is a precaution against theft. |
