Bought this little gem from the salvage auctions yesterday.

Undercarriage damage, dunno what they hit but it punctured both head lights...just missing the chassis rails...luckily!

Both front wheels got pushed back bending the lower wishbone suspension arms....an easy replacement repair.

But...beautiful white/cream leather, sunroof...low mileage engine, full electric seats, bluetooth and 5 stacker CD player.

Embarassingly cheap.

Hasn't the fuel pump got a cut off switch that is activated when the air bags are deployed. This is to stop fuel being pumped out after an accident.
There should be a reset switch for it.

Air bags weren't deployed in this one so I looked further by removing both guards.

Half an hour later with the soldering iron and heatshrink tube she started and runs smooth as silk.

The wiper washer area tends to foul the loom almost evry time on these, the loom goes from the drivers side dashboard fuse box-out the drivers side guard-round the front of the car to the ECU's and back in side the other guard to the passenger side dashboard.

A loop around the front it seems, probably so airbags work if loom gets cut?

Luckily both chassis rails were missed in the collision...much easier to repair than mere wishbone arms.

rang around all the wreckers to get arms and Eddy's in Adelaide said just get new ones...about 90 bucks each...sounds good to me...

Wow, looking forward to watching this rebirth.
Looks like the damage is pretty isolated, that's a good thing.

Got all the mechanicals sorted out today.

Fitted the K-frame back with new wishbone arms, cleaned it and sprayed it along with the rollover support bar.

Panel beaters picking it up in the morning.

So far...$4075 spent, with the spaypainting to go.

Panel beating will be bonnet, slight sill on drivers side, two guards and front bar.

hoping to get this on the road with 12 mths rego for under $6k...I know its a lot but it's a GTL and they are rare.

I got to use my new transmission hoist that kids got me for Xmas...so did it all single handedly.

Some people may be surprised to know I do complete engine and transmission swap outs single handedly.

Helps having all the best tools....

Didn't you replace the front wheel bearings when the front end was done?
