last thing to do is grind some casting lobes off to fit the Quaife LSD.
see attached pic.

If you dont grind them to clear then it will all have to come off the car again.....big mistake.

Yes, you can do it, but it will need machining to fit the crown wheel, cause the final drive is way different.

For example the manual 380 revs at 3000 at 100km/h...the auto 380 is about 1800 rpm.

There are three 380's in the world with LSD's...I own two and Foozrcool has the third.

I can put people in touch with the man who does them....around $3k.

It is a significant performance upgrade, the car becomes completely different, the TMR380 is sensational with an LSD.

It will take as much work as the Quaife.

take your pick...but I have done the Quaife on my Gt and my TMR and I drive the GT hard...haven't broken it yet.....

In addition to the mods to the final drive you will also ned to respline the driveshafts from 18 to 17 splines.
Then they need to be case hardened.

(About $200 per driveshaft)

I'm a little confused about the Quaife LSD. Is it not a simple remove the stock diff and bolt on the Quaife?. Are there other mods required for it to fit?. Is RPW the only place were you can buy the Quaife?. You sound like you weren't happy with what RPW sent you, they only sell the product, they don't manufacture it, is that right?. Pardon my ignorance my background is in firefighting and electrical, motor mechanics isn't my strong suit. I understand this is an awesome upgrade, what exactly are the benefits of a LSD?.

Nothing wrong with thw Quaife, just that RPW claim that it is a virtually straightforward fit with a bit of grinding....it's actually a case of filling, drilling, tapping, resplining and case hardening.
But...I was the first to ever do it, and they ahd never done it, they keep making assumptions based on the Magna upgrades and a 380 is way different in all respects.

An LSD means when you apply power instead of just one wheel being driven, both wheels get driven.

You know...you mash the pedal and the steering goes left,right,left,right?...with an LSD it just goes straight....very good upgrade for a front wheel drive car....even a rear wheel drive car for that matter.
